Data Files and Folders

FT2000RC uses a couple of data files. They are stored in two different folders of your computer depending on the Windows version.



Windows XP

Application Data C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\FT2000RC
User Data C:\Documents and Settings\<Current User>\Application Data\FT2000RC

Windows Vista, 7 and 8

Application Data C:\ProgramData\FT2000RC
User Data C:\Users\<Current User>\AppData\Roaming\FT2000RC

Application Data

cty_wt.dat The "Country File", a database of entities, prefixes and callsigns in the Win-Test format that are used by FT2000RC. This file can always be updated and downloaded from It is maintained by Jim Reisert, AD1C.
dxcc.dat The list of all DXCC entities, entity names and entity ADIF codes.
dxclusters.dat A list of many available DX Telnet clusters. This list is not maintained but can be edited with any text editor.
menu_ft2000.dat All FT-2000 menu entries. Do not edit this file!!
prefix.dat In addition to the country file cty_wt.dat, this is a list of prefixes to determine the CQ Zone of some entities.

User Data

FT2000RC.ini All user-specific program settings
locators.dat As soon as you have entered a six-digit grid locator in the Logging screen, the call sign and locator are stored in this file to determine exact heading and distance when a station is next spotted in the Cluster.
server_log.txt Event log of FT2000RCServer
wanted.dat This file is created at runtime. It carries the list of all wanted DX spots.
