Yaesu FT-2000 Extended TX Modification
This modification is to extend the frequency range of the Yaesu FT-2000.
Frequency Range RX/TX: 1.8-30MHz, 50-54Mhz.
First of all, Turn off the mainswitch at the back and unplug all cables from the transceiver before starting to modify the radio..

Turn the transceiver upside down, so that the bottom cover up will be facing upwards and the front panel facing towards you.

Unscrew the bottom cover. 3 big screws on each side of the radio, and some little ones at the bottom. (no need to remove the 4 feet)

Remove the bottom cover, you will see another cover fixed with 15 screws.. See picture below

Unscrew the blank cover with the 15 screws.

When the cover removed, locate the JP30XX jumper section a the front-left (surrounded with yellow marking) See picture below

Locate location 04, solder this jumper with just a solder blob. See picture below

Reassemble the radio, when done plug in all cables. And turn on the mainswitch at the back.

Press and hold the [FAST] + [LOCK] buttons when turning on the radio, this will cause a full reset of the radio, but will initialize the radio for wideband TX.

Finished! You should now be able transmit through the whole frequency range of 1.8-30MHz, 50-54Mhz.
