Alpha 87A RC Documentation

The Alpha 87A RC Software Documentation is only available online on these pages.
Using the software is pretty easy and intuitive. You should nevertheless carefully read all documentation pages here especially when you intend to control your Alpha 87A over the internet.
Legal disclaimer: The Alpha 87A and this software are in almost daily use at the software author. The author of this software cannot be liable for any damage to your amplifier under any circumstances.

The Alpha 87A command protocol offers a full set to completely control the amplifier - including switching it on and off. However the amplifier status has to be polled. The software does this every 500 milliseconds by default or by any other value you set in the Programm Settings. The software also calculates the VSWR and displays it on the bottom panel as well as the Operating Frequency, Reflected Power, Grid Current, Peak Power and Input Power.
When you power-on the amplifier, a gauge is displayed showing the remaining warm-up time. If any fault should happen, the Amplifier Fault is reported and shown in the bottom panel of the software.
Note: Since I upgraded my amplifier with the AlphaMAX™ Firmware Upgrade, the tuning indicator information is not reported anymore.
